Is Thanksgiving Being Overlooked?

I do realize that the posting of this would have been preferably earlier in the day. But let's not complain and be, in the spirit of the holiday, thankful for the time I am willing to take away from my family to spend with you all, my faithful followers.

Over this Thanksgiving break I've been spending much of my time watching TV. I've noticed leading up to this great holiday the majority of the commercials are Christmas themed. Why is that? As I spent more of my time productively in front of the television I suffered through ad after ad promoting the new Christmas specials. "Watch the new Madagascar Christmas!" "Watch A Frosty the Snowman Christmas!" For what reason are there, it seems, hundreds and hundreds of Christmas specials when Thanksgiving is in fact coming up? It seems people now a day are even looking forward to the Black Friday sales more than spending valuable time with family during Thanksgiving. At least that's how the advertisements make it look. Finally while watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I was happy to see at last Thanksgiving getting the recognition it deserves. But then I noticed the entire second half of floats were full of snowmen, snowflakes, elves, and christmas trees. To top it all off the last float, with what should have been the greatest tribute to Thanksgiving like a giant turkey with pilgrims or something, had instead Santa Clause. Why is Thanksgiving being overlooked? Well at least in my opinion Thanksgiving will always be my favorite holiday, that is...

after Christmas.
