Illegal and Legal Facts

I love lists! They are short, straight to the point and very interesting. So I made a list of Illegal and Legal Facts

  • In Singapore, it is illegal to sell or own chewing gum.
  • It's illegal to slurp soup in New Jersey.
  • While in some countries the penalty for driving while intoxicated can be death (yes, death), in Uruguay intoxication is a legal excuse for having an accident while driving. "Please believe me officer, I really was drunk."
  • According to the federal Center for Substance Abuse prevention, "For kids under twenty-one, there is no difference between alcohol and other drug use and abuse." Incredibly, it makes no distinction between a self-reliant 20 year old toasting his love at their wedding reception with a sip of champagne and a drug-addicted 20 year old doing crack cocaine!
  • Dueling is legal in Paraguay as long as both parties are registered blood donors.
  • In Charleston, West Virginia it is still legal to beat your wife on the steps on the court house.
  • In Alabama it is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.
  • It is illegal to drive more than two thousand sheep down Hollywood Boulevard at one time.
  • In long beach It is illegal to curse on a mini-golf course
  • In Honolulu within the limits of any public park, it is unlawful to annoy any bird. (SEC. 10-1.2)
  • In New York Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 P.M.
  • In new York A license must be purchased before hanging clothes on a clothesline.
  • In Carrizozo it’s forbidden for a female to appear unshaven in public.
  • In Las Cruces, New Mexico you may not carry a lunchbox down Main Street.
